Dunnottar School is a school for special needs children and adults ranging in age from 5 to 25. The school educates 80 special needs children between 5-16 years of age. Holy Family Children's Home is located in Ciceron, not far from Castries. The Children's Home provides a home for abandoned, abused and orphaned children from infants up to 10 years of age. Some teens are cared for as well. The Children's Home appreciates donations of new or gently used children’s summer-type clothing, vitamins, disposable diapers, children’s Tylenol, crayons, colored pencils, toys, groceries, toiletries and other supplies. Island Routes offers visitors to Castries the opportunity to go on a Reading Road Trip and help local school children through their 'Community Routes Program.' Participants will interact with children at a local school, read a story to a small group of school children ages 3-10 years of age, and help school children improve their listening and comprehension skills.
